The Teams

On the field, teams are organized and supervised by the MANAGER. The Manager is assisted by up to three COACHS who assist the Manager with jobs including coaching first base, third base, keeping the scorebook, and organizing the bench. Off the field activities involving parents and players may be steered by a TEAM PARENT selected by the Manager.

Managers are appointed by the Commisioner, subject to approval by the Board of Directors. Coachs are selected by the Managers.

Team selection is aimed at grouping players of approximate age and skill levels equally. Though imperfect, our system of grouping players based on the evaluation of managers, best suits that purpose: managers watch the players run, throw, catch, and hit over the course of the season, and are thus in the best position to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each player on their team..

Teams meet each week after school and on weekends for games and practices. The days and times vary from week to week according to field availability and, of course, the weather.
